Charge for an AI checkup, then run the fix monthly

Sell a traditional mid-sized business, like a construction company, a paid review of which of its tasks AI could handle. Then charge a monthly fee to run the fix for the task they dislike most. Start with businesses run by people you already know.

Who pays

The business pays a one-time fee for the checkup, then a monthly fee for you to keep the automated task running. One poster says three college students charged $1,000 for the checkup and landed a client paying $15,000 a month within a few months. That is the poster's own claim. Your own prices will depend on the size of the business and the job.

How to build it

  1. Text people you already know

    Message friends, family, and past contacts who run or work at traditional businesses such as construction, trades, or logistics. Offer a paid AI checkup.

  2. Interview the employees

    Talk to the staff one by one and ask what takes up their time each week. Record or write down the answers and collect sample files, such as forms, quotes, and reports.

  3. Find the most hated task

    Give Claude the interview notes and files and ask it to list the tasks that could be automated. Rank them by hours saved and by how much staff dislike them.

  4. Build a quick demo

    Build a working demo of the top task with Claude, and use n8n if it needs to connect to email, spreadsheets, or other software the business uses.

  5. Show the before and after

    Run the demo in front of the owner on their own files. Show the task finished in minutes instead of the hour it takes now.

  6. Offer a monthly retainer

    Propose a monthly fee to run and maintain the automation, and send the checkup invoice and monthly plan through Stripe Payment Links.
