Keep local businesses' Google listings posting every week

Write and publish short weekly posts, such as offers, news and seasonal updates, on the Google listings of local businesses that set theirs up once and stopped. The business owner pays you a monthly fee.

The hard part: landing clients through cold outreach and keeping each client's posts fresh and specific week after week.

Who pays

Local businesses with an empty or stale Posts section on their Google listing pay a monthly fee for 4 to 8 posts. AlexEngineerAI suggests charging $100 to $200 a month. That is the poster's suggested price, not reported earnings, so treat it as a suggestion. AI writes the copy, so most of your time goes to finding clients and scheduling posts.

How to build it

  1. Find listings that stopped posting

Search Google Maps for local businesses in your city and open each Google Business Profile. Note the ones whose Posts section is empty or whose last post is about 3 months old.

  2. Write one sample post each

Give ChatGPT the business name, its services and any current promotion, and ask for one short offer or news post. Check the details against their listing and website.

  3. Send the sample as your pitch

Email or DM the owner with the sample post already written for their business, and offer to post every week for a monthly fee.

  4. Get access to the listing

Ask each new client to add you as a manager on their Google Business Profile so you can publish posts for them.

  5. Batch posts once a week

Each week, have ChatGPT draft 2 to 3 posts per client: an offer, a what's-new update and a seasonal note. Edit them and publish them to the listing.

  6. Bill clients each month

Set up a monthly subscription for each client with Stripe Payment Links.

AlexEngineerAI says most local businesses set up their Google Business Profile once and never post, and that businesses that post consistently get more clicks and calls (the poster's own claim). The suggested workflow is to give ChatGPT the business details and write 2 to 3 updates a week in under 20 minutes, charging $100 to $200 a month for 4 to 8 posts. To find clients, the poster suggests looking for listings whose Posts section is empty or 3 months old, then sending a sample post.
