Build a review site for one expensive product

Pick a costly product that people research before buying, like e-bikes, and write comparison and ownership guides for it. Amazon pays you a commission when a reader clicks through and buys.

The hard part: getting the comparison pages to show up in Google ahead of the review sites that are already there.

Who pays

Amazon pays a commission through its Amazon Associates program when a reader follows your link and buys. Because the product is expensive, one sale can make up for many visitors who never buy anything. shubham_habib reports that an e-bike review site built this way made $5,274 in total revenue and was listed for sale at $15,200 on MotionInvest. These are the poster's own figures. Selling the site later is a second way to get paid.

How to build it

  1. Choose a costly product people compare

Pick a product that buyers research before they spend money, like e-bikes. Check that Amazon sells plenty of models across several types and price ranges.

  2. Sign up for Amazon Associates

Join the Amazon Associates program so you can make tracked links to the products you will recommend.

  3. Plan your best-of comparison pages

Ask Claude to list the comparison searches buyers make, sorted by type and budget, such as folding, fat tire, commuter, and under $1,000. Turn each one into its own 'best of' page.

  4. Write practical ownership guides

Add a few useful posts on owning the product, such as batteries, chain care, brakes, and the first year of ownership. That way the site offers more than pages full of links to buy.

  5. Publish the site on Webflow

Build a simple site on Webflow with a page template for comparisons and one for guides. Put your Amazon links in the product sections of each comparison page.

  6. Refresh pages as models change

Every month or two, look for discontinued products and new models, and update your 'best of' pages so the recommendations stay current.

shubham_habib reports that an Amazon affiliate e-bike review site made $5,274 total and was listed for $15,200 on MotionInvest. These are the poster's own figures. The poster says the 'best of' pages are what sell, the ownership posts give the site more than affiliate roundups, and one sale of an expensive product can pay for a lot of visitors who never buy.
