Sell developers a starter kit with payments already set up
Build a code template or library that handles the tedious setup developers repeat on every project, such as payments, licensing, and auto-updates. Developers buy it as a download so they can skip straight to building their own app.
The hard part: getting developers to notice your kit among the many free and paid templates already out there.
Who pays
Developers pay a one-time price to download the kit, and some kits also sell paid upgrades. SachinNeravath reports, as his own claim, that a simple JavaScript library he sells has passed $300K in revenue, with half of sales on Gumroad and half on Lemon Squeezy. No source reports revenue for a starter kit like this one, so the price you set is only a suggestion. Selling on both Gumroad and Lemon Squeezy, as that poster does, puts the kit in front of buyers on two stores.
How to build it
Pick the setup you know well
Choose a kind of app you have already built at least once, such as a paid Mac app or a web app with subscriptions. List the setup steps that took you the longest.
Build the kit with AI help
Use Claude Code or Cursor to build a clean template that handles those steps, such as payments, license keys, and auto-updates. Test it by starting a new project from the template yourself.
Write clear setup instructions
Ask Claude to draft a step-by-step guide and a short video script, then check every step yourself. Most buyers judge a kit by how fast they get it running.
Put up a sales page
Host a simple page on Vercel that shows what the kit sets up and how much time it saves. Include screenshots of the finished result.
List it on two stores
Sell the download on both Gumroad and Lemon Squeezy and link to both from your page.
Launch where developers look
Post on Product Hunt and X, and show the kit working in short clips.

dmytrovirych launched Build Mac App on Product Hunt and described it as the template they wished they had before their first paid Mac app. The poster says it comes with licensing, payments, notarized releases, auto-updates, and the website that sells it already set up.
